What is it for?
- The Government is undertaking a revaluation of all non domestic property and will be publishing a draft valuation list early next year, with the completed list coming into effect on the 1st April 2010.
- As part of the process the Valuation Office Agency collects information from occupiers and owners about how they occupy their premises including details of any rents.
What does it mean for me?
- The information which is required is used to assist the Valuation Office Agency in the preparation of the 2010 Valuation List. Clearly, it is important not only to ensure it is accurate but also that it is necessary for the Valuation Office Agency to undertake its job.
- You are required by law to complete the form within 56 days after which you will be liable for a civil penalty of £100. Further fines will be levied for continued non compliance.
- Remember – you could also be prosecuted if you make false statements.
How we can help?
- The standard form extends to eight pages and in our experience can be both daunting and time consuming for many clients.
- As part of the services we provide to our clients, we can help relieve the burden of doing this work and complete the form on behalf of the client and deal with any queries which might subsequently arise.
- If you would like to know more about this service or have any other queries please speak or email James Denham on jdenham@dixonwebb.com
- Remember don’t have it sitting around, act now!
